Betsy Glassie
"My goal is to create a unique environment in my paintings
that invites, elevates and nourishes."

Always seeking new ways to create vital renderings of her subjects in acrylic and oil...

Betsy Glassie's loose colorful, modern impressionistic style has developed over years of study and experimentation. Beginning with initial abstraction while studying with the painters of the Washington Color School of the 1960's, she eventually integrated a more literal interpretation of nature into her work, forging a personal style.

As in the work of some of her favorite artists, the late paintings of Monet and the abstract painting of Joan Mitchell, she has chosen gardens, landscapes and floral themes as her main subjects.
