| To
me, artwork is created to bring the viewer into a world where they can
participate and relate to the narration an artist depicts. This connection
initiates a bond between artist and audience that is priceless. Therefore,
artwork becomes a personal journey of the mind. Much of my work develops
through my everyday thoughts, experiences, and travels; things I can relate
to and channel into passions and inspirations. Themes such as birth, childhood,
marriage, personal relationships, and the inner spirit have become key
aspects of my work in recent years.
I am represented in public and private collections throughout the greater
Washington area including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the
Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Corcoran College of Art and Design, library
collection. My work has also been selected for individual, group, and
juried exhibitions in 9 states.
My prints and book art structures explore what is found in an artist's
imagination. It is my hope that they speak to you, the viewer, as well.
